Three new legislation have been signed to update the status of schools.
MANILA – President Rodrigo R. Duterte has signed three new laws in Camarines Sur, Davao Occidental, and Mountain Province that update the status of schools.
Pinaglabanan High School in Barangay Pinaglabanan, Municipality of Goa, Province of Camarines Sur was renamed Pinaglabanan National High School after Duterte signed Republic Act (RA) No. 11762.
The Pinaglabanan National High School’s main campus will remain in its current location in Barangay Pinaglbanan, Municipality of Goa, Province of Camarines Sur, per RA 11762.
He also signed Republic Act 11763, which transforms the Molmol Elementary School in Barangay Molmol, Municipality of Jose Abad Santos, Province of Davao Occidental, into the Mariano Anoy Sangay Integrated School.
All Molmol Elementary School staff, assets, liabilities, and records will be transferred to and absorbed by the Mariano Anoy Sangay Integrated School under the law.
The Secretary of Education must incorporate the Mariano Anoy Sangay Integrated School’s operationalization in the Department’s program as soon as possible, with funds coming from the yearly General Appropriations Act.
Within 60 days following the law’s adoption, the DepEd Secretary must issue rules and regulations implementing the requirements of RA 11763.
In addition, Duterte signed RA 11764, which renamed Salin Elementary School in Barangay Sadsadan, Municipality of Bauko, Mountain Province, to Talban P. Bitayan Elementary School.
RA 11762, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House on August 25, 2021, was revised by the Senate on December 13, 2021, and the House agreed to the revisions on January 24, 2022.
The House and Senate passed RA 11763, which originated in the House, on November 8, 2021 and January 31, 2022, respectively.
The House and Senate passed RA 11764, which originated in the House, on November 23, 2021 and January 31, 2022, respectively.
On April 29, 2022, Duterte signed all of the laws.
