DAVAO- 84 families in Davao Region who benefited from BP2 earned PHP3.36 million, a DSWD-11 official said Tuesday.

Louis Jan Lacida, DSWD–11 social marketing officer, said 84 family beneficiaries are now in Davao del Norte: Asuncion (33), Carmen (10), Sto. Tomas (19), New Corella (14), Island Garden City of Samal (2), and Panabo City (4).

Lacida said each family gets PHP40,000 under the program’s transitory family support package to buy groceries, pay utility bills, and pay for education.

EO 114 created the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Council to ensure “whole-of-government activity” on the initiative.

Lani Cudino, DSWD-11 Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) regional program coordinator, stated they conduct orientations and discussions with BP2 recipients throughout Davao Region.

“It orients beneficiaries on BP2 services and their responsibilities,” she said.

Cudino said BP2 offers transportation and relocation assistance, livelihood grants, shelter aid, and financial aid.

BP2 is an interagency program that provides comprehensive services to returning families and funds to local governments to improve access to essential services.

It aims to decongest urban poor communities in big cities with high coronavirus disease prevalence in 2019, promoting balanced regional development.
