In three Caraga provinces, there have been no Covid-19 cases for a week.
The Department of Health here (DOH-13) claimed three provinces in the Caraga Region had zero coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases for a week.
From May 30 to June 4, according to the DOH-13’s weekly report, the provinces of Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and the Dinagat Islands had zero Covid-19 instances.
During the same time period, no infections were reported in cities across the region, including Cabadbaran in Agusan del Norte and Bislig and Tandag in Surigao del Sur.
Last week, the region saw a total of 16 new Covid-19 infections, with three each in the provinces of Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur, two in Surigao City, one in Bayugan, and eight in Butuan City.
According to the CDC, the region still has 23 current Covid-19 cases and 58,957 infections as of this week.
The DOH-13 report stated, “A total of 12 recoveries were also documented in the region last week, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 56,726.”
Last week, seven more Covid-19-related deaths were reported, increasing the total number of deaths in the region to 2,208 since the epidemic began in early 2020.
