Davao City has begun the second round of booster shots for the general public.
The city’s Vaccination Cluster began administering second booster doses of coronavirus illness (Covid-19) to the general public on Tuesday.
“Those who are eligible for the second booster doses can now receive them at our various immunization locations,” stated cluster director Dr. Josephine Villafuerte.
Those who received the first booster shot three to four months ago are eligible for the second booster shot, according to Villafuerte.
For booster shots, the local government now employs the Moderna and Pfizer brands.
For individuals who have yet to receive their first and second vaccination shots, Villafuerte guaranteed that the city still has “enough vaccinations.”
Meanwhile, according to Villafuerte, the fully vaccinated population has remained stable at around 80% to 85%. She did highlight, however, that the number has already surpassed the Department of Health’s requirement of 70% population immunity.
On the other hand, she asked new pediatric parents to make immunization easier for their children, adding that the vaccination cluster has only achieved a 6% vaccination turnout of the city’s 242,000 targets pediatric population.
