MANILA – Beginning at midnight on June 12, the Bonifacio Monument Circle and nearby roads in Caloocan City will be closed to automobiles in honor of the 124th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.
Other affected highways, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), include portions of McArthur Highway, Samson Road, Rizal Avenue, and the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue, according to a traffic advisory issued on Tuesday (Edsa).
“The roadblock will be lifted till the activity is completed,” the MMDA said.
It recommended motorists “avoid disruption” by taking alternate routes.
Vehicles heading to EDSA and Manila from Sangandaan Samson Road may drive through Heroes Del 96 Street and turn left onto 10th Ave. to reach their destination.
From Rizal Avenue, turn left on 10th Avenue, right on Heroes Del 96 St., right on Samson Road, left on Dagohoy, left on Caimito Road, and right on Langka St. to reach the destination.
Those heading to Edsa should take 10th Avenue and turn left onto B. Serrano.
Vehicles heading to Samson Road from Edsa should turn right onto McArthur and then left onto Gen. Pascual to reach their location.
Vehicles traveling from McArthur through Rizal Ave. and Samson Road should use Gen. Pascual to the location, while vehicles coming from Edsa should utilize the zipper lane northbound, turn left at 8th Street, and turn left to the destination.
