E-titles are given to agrarian reform recipients in Bulacan.
Under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has provided electronic land titles (e-titles) to agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Bulacan province.
The SPLIT initiative aims to expedite the subdivision or parcelization of around 1.368 million hectares of land owned by collective certificates of land ownership awards (CCLOAs) across the country.
According to Project SPLIT team head Sylvia R. Sangbaan, a total of 17.0439 hectares of land were allocated to 13 ARBs in Bulacan on Thursday.
According to Sangbaan, there were 34 e-titles of certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) involving farm parcels in Cluster 2, which includes the municipalities of San Rafael and San Ildefonso.
She stated that the DAR would parcelize the allotted areas covered by a CCLOA under the SPLIT initiative.
This means that each farmer beneficiary would be awarded a unique land title based on the area or portion of the land he or she is cultivating.
“It is preferable to issue distinct titles to each farmer-beneficiary since it allows them to have a clear and defined ownership of the land parcels they are cultivating.” In a social media post, Sangbaan added, “It preserves and affirms our ARBs’ property rights.”
DAR began distributing e-titles to 300 ARBs in the region in April.
A total of 455 hectares of land have been distributed to ARBs in the region, out of a total of 34,000 hectares available.
