LPG prices were only slightly reduced in July

Industry participants reduced the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for July by a small amount.

Friday at 12:01 a.m., Petron instituted a PHP0.40 per kilogram reduction on LPG. The cost of AutoLPG was also reduced by PHP0.22 per liter.

According to Petron’s recommendation, “These reflect the LPG international contract price for the month of July.”

At 6 a.m. on the same day, Solane-branded LPG likewise adopted the price reduction, bringing residential LPG costs down by PHP0.36 per kilogram.

A standard 11-kilogram residential LPG tank’s price was reduced from PHP3.96 to PHP4.40 as a result of the pricing modifications.

Prices for LPG have decreased for three months in a row. The rollback for July, though, was the smallest since May of this year.

According to data from the energy department, the average cost of an 11-kg LPG cylinder in Metro Manila was PHP970 last month.
