Weekend road repairs are planned for QC and Makati.
Beginning on Friday night, the Department of Public Works and Highways will restart its weekly road rehabilitation projects in several locations throughout two Metro Manila cities.
Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa), C-5, and other highways in Makati and Quezon City would be repaired, according to National Capital Regional (NCR) Director Nomer Abel Canlas.
At 11 p.m., the road rehabilitation activities will start.
Following the P. Tuazon flyover to the Aurora Tunnel, the third lane from the center island (fast lane); following Aurora Boulevard to New York Street, the third lane from the center island (intermittent section); and following Kamuning Road and Kamias Road to JAC Liner Bus Station, beside the center island, is the Edsa Northbound road segments in Quezon City that are still undergoing repair work.
In addition, repair work will resume on the following roads: Quirino Highway, 2nd inner lane before Manila North Diversion Road (MNDR) Flyover; Edsa Southbound, from Balingasa Creek to Oliveros Footbridge; Cloverleaf Market going to North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) northbound; and Cloverleaf going to NLEX southbound.
The second lane of C-5 Southbound in Makati City will also be closed for maintenance.
Due to expected traffic delays close to work sites, the DPWH recommended drivers consider alternative routes.
On Monday, July 18, the impacted road portions are expected to return to traffic at 5 a.m.
