Employees of MRT-3 must submit to random drug testing.

In accordance with the Civil Service Commission’s rules, the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) tested all of its employees for drugs at random on Friday (CSC).

The MRT-3 stated in a Facebook post that the action, which is based on CSC Resolution No. 1700653, intends to ensure “effective” and “appropriate” service delivery to the general population.

“Random drug testing that is required to be conducted is inasagawa isang beses sa dalawang taon. A mandatory random drug test must be conducted twice a year and is administered at the MRT-3 depot. The MRT-3 terminal would host the action the entire day, it stated.

Any public official or employee who tests positive for drug use in the first instance will be subject to an obligatory counseling or rehabilitation program, “depending on the severity of drug usage,” according to CSC Resolution No. 1700653.

It was stated that those who refused to participate in or dropped out of the rehabilitation program would be “officially charged” with the administrative infraction of “severe misconduct.”
