Metro Manila remains at Alert Level 1 while other areas don’t.

Malacaang declared on Saturday that Metro Manila would continue to be classified under the most lenient Alert Level 1 while the classifications of alert levels are being reviewed.

This means that until the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) issues a recommendation to deploy a new warning level system; the Marcos administration will continue to use the current coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) alert levels.

According to a news release from the IATF-press EID’s secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, the group’s members will meet on July 18 to discuss installing alert levels around the nation.

According to Cruz-Angeles, the IATF will reassess our alert levels on Monday, July 18, and things are still as they are.

The declaration was made as the nation’s Covid-19 alert level status was set to expire on July 15.

The President will meet with the Department of Health Officer in Charge Rosario Vergeire on Monday to discuss the warning levels for Covid-19 and any necessary action.

Cruz-Angeles added in a second statement that the IATF-EID would keep track of the pandemic’s progression in the interim.
