Cordillera goods are offered for sale during the Baguio trade show.

The Cordillera Administrative Region’s Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is encouraging the general public to “take a vacation throughout the region” by perusing the provinces’ featured goods at the “Impakabsat” trade fair in SM-Baguio mall.

The DTI-regional CAR’s director, Juliet Lucas, stated in an interview on Monday that the event, which began on July 16, will continue until August 19.

“Every week, we’ll highlight a different province’s products. The first will be items made by Abra “said Lucas.

The word meaning brotherhood in the region is “impakabsat.”

Handwoven and organically colored fabrics and garments, bamboo and woodcrafts, processed food, and other things are all on sale at the fair.

According to Lucas, the trade show is a DTI-Cordillera annual event that began in the late 1990s as a way to help sell and promote the diverse goods produced by the region’s micro, small, and medium-sized firms (MSMEs).

She claimed that their organization still assists MSMEs in improving their products to reach desired standards and instigating them to start their own businesses.

According to her, MSMEs account for nearly 99 percent of the region’s enterprises, providing their owners with a living and the means to employ others.

Lucas pointed out that the trade show coincides with the region’s 35th anniversary celebrations.
