Dabawenyos are asked to report Covid-19 symptoms honestly.

The Davao City Covid-19 Task Force asked the locals to report coronavirus illness 2019 (Covid-19) symptoms honestly in order to protect themselves and their fellow Dabawenyos.

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) passed a resolution on July 24 that included additional recommendations for home isolation and quarantine for fully and partially immunized asymptomatic patients and close contacts. This led to the call.

The city task force’s spokesperson, Dr. Michelle Schlosser, claimed in a radio interview that the IATF resolution offered a set of significantly laxer isolation rules for people who were asymptomatic but had had vaccinations.

Schlosser stated, “We are advising everyone not to lie about your symptoms because you are putting not only yourself but also your loved ones and your coworkers at risk.”

Asymptomatic close contacts who are only partially or never immunized must remain in isolation for at least 14 days to prevent exposure.

Close contacts who have had all necessary vaccinations do not require quarantine if they exhibit no symptoms, she said.

Asymptomatic Covid-positive people only apply if they show no symptoms when they are alone, Schlosser stressed.

Patients with Covid-19 who are fully immunized and asymptomatic must stay in isolation for seven days beginning on the day their test samples were taken.

Referring to the IATF resolution, Schlosser noted, “The same applies for positive or suspected cases of fully immunized individuals experiencing moderate symptoms.”

The seven-day isolation period begins with the onset of symptoms, while individuals who are partially or completely unvaccinated and who are asymptomatic but display minor symptoms must spend ten days in isolation, with the countdown beginning at the onset of symptoms.

Regardless of immunization status, everyone who tests positive for COVID or is suspected of having it must spend the same length of time in isolation starting on the first day that symptoms appear.

Regardless of their vaccination status, positive or suspected positive people with severe symptoms would need to be isolated for 21 days.

According to Schlosser, “the same applies for immunocompromised patients showing severe symptoms,” and the isolation period will be measured from the first day that symptoms were noticed.
