Family meal kits are delivered to Abra by DSWD-3.
Families impacted by the magnitude 7 earthquake that struck the province of Abra last week have received support from the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Luzon (DSWD-3)
On Sunday, 6,400 family food packets worth over PHP2.9 million arrived in the capital city of Bangued on four delivery trucks from the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau, according to DSWD Regional Director Marites Maristela on Monday.
“The delivery of the relief items is part of the ongoing response operation to the families affected by the magnitude 7 earthquake that jolted provinces in northwestern Luzon and nearby regions,” she said in an interview.
According to Maristela, the inter-regional operation for disaster response and early recovery through synergy and convergence was established by the Luzon Stronghold Resolution No. 2 and the relief augmentation was in response to Arnel B. Garcia of the DSWD Field Office-Cordillera Administrative Region’s request.
She added that the DSWD-3 is still on alert and ready to offer the impacted communities more help and assistance.
