Two cases of the Omicron BA.2.75 subvariant have been reported in the nation, according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday.

Both cases were from Western Visayas, according to DOH officer-in-charge Ma. Rosario Vergeire, and they had already been marked as recovered. The BA.2.75 strain, also known as “Centaurus,” was discovered for the first time in India in May of this year.

An additional 1,015 BA roughly.

Except for the Zamboanga Peninsula and Northern Mindanao, 5 cases were also found in every region, and three returning abroad Filipinos were tested for the subvariant.

883 of the total have already made a full recovery, while the remaining 84 are still in isolation.

The remaining 48 patients’ status is still being confirmed by the DOH.

26 new BA were also present.

4 instances were found.

Six of them were from the National Capital Region (NCR), four from the Cagayan Valley, three from Western Visayas, two each from Central Luzon, Region 4-A (Calabarzon), Bicol, Davao, Socksargen, and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), and one from Ilocos.

Two are currently being held in isolation, while twenty-one have already been marked as recovered. Verification of the outcomes in the final three cases is ongoing.

Additionally, 18 new BA.2.12.1 cases were found, including five from the NCR, three from the Ilocos Region, two from the Central Visayas, two from Calabarzon, and one from the Cagayan Valley.

The status of the remaining patients is still being confirmed. Thirteen are currently marked as recovered, four are being placed in isolation.

All of the recently discovered Omicron subvariant cases’ travel and exposure histories are still being confirmed.
