Toyota establishes the first mobility solutions company in Asia in the Philippines.
Toyota, a Japanese automaker, has decided to establish its first mobility solutions business in Asia in the Philippines.
The first company of its sort in Asia and the Philippines, Toyota Mobility Solutions Philippines, Inc. (TMSPH) was officially launched by Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) on Friday in Taguig City.
Hao Quoc Tien, chief executive officer of Toyota Motor Corp.’s Asia Region, stated that the new operation aims to become a center of excellence and a hub for mobility in the area.
TMSPH president Ma. Cristina Fe Arevalo stated, “We expect TMSPH to be at the center of the mobility ecosystem as an integrated, one-stop mobility solutions provider to help progress enterprises and answer local communities’ requirements.
A fleet-connected service, an app for scheduling on-demand shuttles, automobile sharing or renting, a logistics matching service, and a fleet management service are among the company’s initial service offerings.
Both the logistics requirements of businesses and the problems faced by commuters are intended to be alleviated by the services.
TMP President Hiro Okamoto traveled in the commuter public in 2020 by using a variety of public transportation options.
Okamoto stated, “I mentioned that I would like Toyota to participate in this significant task to assist improve the quality of life of many Filipinos.
Toyota is in an excellent position to innovate and provide mobility solutions, he continued, as it is the top automaker in the Philippines.
TMP Chairman Alfred Ty stated that Toyota had invested PHP73 billion and paid PHP426 billion in taxes during its 34 years in the Philippines.
In its production facility, dealership networks, suppliers, and affiliates, it gave 63,000 Filipinos jobs.
Since it started its export activities in 1997, the company has exported car components worth USD17.1 billion.
Ty mentioned that the Philippines is currently Toyota’s tenth-largest global market.
