PBBM directs the orderly and prompt release of educational funding.

According to Malacanang, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has called for the swift and orderly delivery of financial aid to needy pupils.

Thousands of people flocked to the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) main office in Batasan Hills, Quezon City, two days prior to the start of the 2022–2023 school year to apply for educational help.

According to Cruz-Angeles, Marcos is keeping an eye on how the DSWD is allocating financial aid to qualified students.

To prevent a recurrence of the unruly crowd that has camped outside its central office since Friday night, DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo announced the agency would sign a memorandum of agreement with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) during a press conference earlier in the day.

Long lines were also reportedly present in the DSWD’s regional offices, which prompted Marcos to direct the organization to ask local government units (LGUs) for help in distributing educational aid.

The President wants the DILG to help the DSWD in providing aid to needy pupils, according to DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo, who made the statement. “Ayon kay DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo, nais ng Pangulo na maging katuwang ng ahensya ang DILG,” Cruz-Angeles stated.

The DSWD has set aside PHP500 million for financial aid for low-income children, with each student receiving PHP1,000 for elementary education, PHP2,000 for high school, PHP3,000 for senior high school, and PHP4,000 for college or vocational students.

To get benefits, qualified beneficiaries must show DSWD offices their enrollment certificates and school identity cards.

Six Saturdays will pass before September 24, before the aid is dispersed at the DSWD central office, regional, provincial, and other local offices.
