The Philippine Airlines issued a warning to the public on Tuesday about dishonest people using phony PAL social media profiles.

The PAL management released a statement saying, “We wish to notify the public about the existence of phony Facebook pages using the PAL brand with hoax messages soliciting applications for non-existent positions in our organization.”

A phony Facebook account called “Phil Airlines,” according to PAL officials is encouraging people to apply for the position of “PAL Foundation ambassadress” and asking for a face-to-face meeting.

“We are alerting the public that dishonest organizations use this as a tactic,”

Please be aware that PAL does not own or administer the aforementioned Facebook account. Our social support group, the PAL Foundation, is not in any way associated with a program that calls for so-called “Ambassadresses,” they said.

A syndicate selling “cheap” plane tickets on Facebook and other social media platforms was another thing that PAL had previously warned travelers against.

According to PAL, the modus operandi is purchasing tickets in bulk and then reselling them at a discount on social media platforms.

The airline business claimed that clients who are persuaded to buy these tickets are finally notified that the names on the tickets are made up, and phony identification is then supplied to the purchasers to present at airport check-in.
