An agreement between Bataan and Gensan to enhance culture and trade

On Thursday, the provincial government of Bataan and the municipal government of General Santos signed an agreement to foster commerce and cultural ties.

Mayor Lorelie Pacquiao signed on behalf of General Santos City, and Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III did so on behalf of the provincial government of Bataan.

I am pleased to share that our province of Bataan and General Santos City jointly signed a sisterhood agreement yesterday, August 25, to promote the cultural and trade ties between the two localities, Garcia said in a social media post on Frida.

“Hangad po nating mas mapalawig pa ang mga programang magsusulong ng kaunlaran sa ating lalawigan at sa bayan ng General Santos City sa ilalim ng sisterhood agreement na ito at sa pagpapalitan ng mga katangi-tanging gawain at kapaki-pakinabang na polisiya

The governor spoke to the similarities between General Santos City and Bataan in terms of agriculture, tourism, and natural resources, saying that these similarities might lead to the sharing of original plans for advancement.

Sharing these excellences with others could ensure extraordinary achievements that in the long run will benefit mankind as a whole, especially all Filipinos, he continued. “No one has the monopoly of excellence, as we can all be enriched by our experiences and best practices; sharing these excellencies with others could ensure extraordinary achievements,” he said.

For her part, Mayor Pacquiao reaffirmed her confidence in and support for the sisterhood pact and urged everyone to keep up the positive relationships already established.

This collaboration, according to the mayor, “is evidence of a strong and progressive administration via cooperation and support of one another.”
