For the soon-to-be-released PHP60 million in educational support, the provincial government of Antique will mobilize its “PYDO on Wheels” Provincial Youth Development Office to receive applications from qualified college and graduate school students.

Irish Manlapaz, the head of PYDO, stated in a Tuesday interview that financial aid would be provided for the first semester of the 2022–2023 academic year.

The island municipality of Caluya and the furthest town of Libertad will begin taking applications for the “PYDO on Wheels” on September 2 and September 5, respectively.

She explained, “The ‘PYDO on Wheels’ would begin in the northern towns of Antique and move south.

The 18 communities in the province will be visited by bus, which will stay in the municipal gym or other locations decided upon by the local government bodies.

Manlapaz stated that they want to process and provide their cash assistance after a month or two by covering all 18 municipalities by the second week of October.

Graduate students who meet the requirements will earn PHP6,000, while qualified college students would receive PHP5,000 to help with expenses like books and rent for boarders.

She noted that students who have received scholarships from public or private colleges are no longer eligible to receive financial aid from the provincial government.

People who have received financial aid for their studies through the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and the Department of Social Welfare and Development are still eligible to apply.

The school registration form, a valid ID card, a birth certificate, a certificate of indigency issued by the barangay captain, and a certificate stating that the applicant is not eligible for any scholarships are among the documents that must be provided.
