889 new examples of the Omicron BA.5 subvariant are found by PH.

The Omicron BA.5 subvariant of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) has been found in 889 more cases across the nation, according to a report released on Wednesday by the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH stated 886 of the overall cases are from all areas, and the other three are returned Filipinos from abroad, in a Viber message to reporters.

Of the 886 infections, approximately 211 are from Western Visayas, 126 are from the National Capital Region (NCR), 111 are from Central Luzon, 74 are from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), 74 are from Bicol Region, 60 are from Calabarzon, 50 are from Central Visayas, 38 are from Ilocos Region, 33 are from Cagayan Valley, 28 are from Mimaropa, 25 are from Soccsksargen

There was 16 more BA in all.

4 cases: 2 each from the Ilocos Region, Bicol Region, Central Visayas, and NCR; 1 each from Central Luzon, Western Visayas, Calabarzon, and CAR; 4 cases from Socsksargen.

The DOH also discovered two and four cases of BA.2.75, respectively.

The four BA.2.12.1 cases come from the Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Cagayan Valley.

The two BA.2.75s are currently from Western and Central Visayas, respectively.

Based on the most recent genome sequencing results from August 26 to 29, all reported cases have been confirmed.
