Government housing activities are partnered with Metro Manila LGUs and DHSUD.
To assure the success of priority initiatives in the area, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) underlined on Friday how crucial it is to enlist the help of Metro Manila’s local government units (LGUs).
DHSUD Secretary Jose Acuzar stated LGUs are essential to gradually addressing and ultimately ending the difficulties in the housing industry. He continually meets with local leaders.
They are our partners in development, he declared. “Our President is fully behind us as we work to fulfill every Filipino family’s long-held ambition of owning a decent, secure, and long-lasting home. The time has come. Let’s get together and seize this chance.
Acuzar has already met with the mayors of Marikina’s Marcelino Teodoro, Muntinlupa’s Ruffy Biazon, Pasig’s Vico Sotto, Malabon’s Jeannie Sandoval, Caloocan’s Dale Malapitan, San Juan’s Francis Zamora, and Pasay’s Imelda Calixto-Rubiano.
The viability of housing programs, new initiatives beneficial to LGUs and target users, and the possibility for economic pump-priming in the sector were also topics of discussion.
Acuzar also discussed his ideas for involving private investors and financial institutions in more inclusive and participatory methods of manufacturing.
According to DHSUD data, 500,000 of the 3.7 million informal settler families residing in the nation’s slums, railroads, canals, streams, and other high-risk regions are found in the National Capital Region.
