DOT recognizes Davao Oro as an “important” tourist attraction.

The province of Davao de Oro has been recognized as a significant tourism destination area (TDA) in the region by the Department of Tourism in the Davao Region (DOT-11), the provincial government announced on Tuesday.

The province will now be included in the “The Colors of Mindanao” campaign, the Tourism Promotion Board, and the National and Regional Tourism Development Plan, according to the DOT-11 recognition of August 31.

According to the provincial government, Davao de Oro is also acknowledged for its contribution to the receipts, stays, and arrivals of regional tourists. This claim is confirmed by statistics from the tourism office that the province reorganized in response to the pandemic’s effects.

For the growth of its human capital and tourism, Davao de Oro benefits from a number of tourism projects, including TIEZA (Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority) buildings and TRIPPC (Tourism Road Infrastructure Project Prioritization Criteria).

The highlands, coast, and wellness loops of the province have demonstrated their significance to the overall impact of tourism returns in the nation, according to Christine Dompor, the provincial senior tourism officer, who noted that over three million tourists had visited from January 2020 to June this year.

The tourism wellness loops in the province have provided more than what is immediately apparent, she claimed.

According to Dompor, the provincial tourist office will organize the province’s Tourism Month Celebration this month, showcasing events that will empower its tourism workers and help entrepreneurs and filmmakers.

For provincial government officials visiting the tourism loops, she said their office would also provide “Capitour! Laag Treats.”

According to Dompor, ongoing maintenance and improvement of tourist destinations have increased income and encouraged the formation of cooperatives made up of farmers, fishermen, boat and mountain guides, and caterers.
