Israel will increase its partnership with PH in agriculture and cybersecurity.

After the two nations’ 12th Joint Commission Meeting concludes this week, Israel intends to expand collaboration with the Philippines in areas of mutual interest, including agriculture, cybersecurity, and other sectors.

Rafael Harpaz, the deputy director general for Asia and the Pacific at the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Alfonso Ver, the assistant secretary for foreign affairs, conducted the political discussion on September 5 in Manila.

“The Israeli delegation placed a strong emphasis on creating innovative bridges between the two nations in a variety of fields, including agritech, watertech, cybersecurity, ICT and connectivity, and others. The topics of counterterrorism and the growth of defense cooperation between Israel and the Philippines are also on the agenda, “In a statement, the Israel Embassy in Manila said.

The delegates also reviewed global and regional trends, notably those about the West Philippine Sea, Iran, and the Middle East.

As the two countries addressed solar-powered irrigation, improving dairy output, and Israel’s agriculture internship for Filipinos, Israel’s ambassador to the Philippines, Ilan Fluss, stated that Israel would share its experience with the Philippines in the field of agriculture.

In response to concerns about productivity and food security, he said, “We are pleased to share our experience in the field of agriculture with the Philippines.” He cited a recent meeting with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who wished to expand agricultural cooperation with Israel.

Along with cybersecurity, innovation, and agriculture, the two sides also discussed trade, inter-ethnic relations, and tourism.
