Positive NCR Covid-19 test results up 12.7%: OCTA

As of September 7, the National Capital Region (NCRpositivity )’s rate—the proportion of patients who tested positive for Covid-19—rose to 12.7%, the OCTA Research Group reported on Thursday.

Dr. Butch Ong, a fellow of the OCTA Research Group, stated in a televised public briefing that the statistic represents an increase of 0.6 percent from the NCR’s 12.1 percent positive rate as of September 3.

He declared, “Of course, the increasing mobility rate of our fellowmen in their communities, since many people are going to offices and schools,” adding, “Maaari din dahil siyempre mais marami na ang tao sa labas at pumapasok sa opisina, sa paaralan.”

However, he continued, NCR’s positive rating had been down for a while until it marginally increased.

The nation’s positive rate was 11.6% as of September 7; 1,750 new cases, 49 fatalities, and 2,025 recoveries were reported.

22,899 cases are open at this time.

“So, we’re encouraging our schools to maintain our precautionary or safety measures against Covid-19 to prevent our numbers from rising,” Ong said. “So, hinihikayat natin na kahit sa paaralan ay i-maintain pa rin natin ang ating mga precautionary or safety measures against Covid-19 [coronavirus disease 2019].
