Queen Elizabeth II passes away, according to Buckingham Palace.

Queen Elizabeth II, who ruled Britain for the longest time, passed away on Thursday at the age of 96, Buckingham Palace announced.

The palace reported that the Queen passed away peacefully this afternoon at Balmoral.

The statement said, “The King and The Queen Consort will stay in Balmoral today evening and travel back to London tomorrow.”

Age-related health and mobility concerns have plagued the queen for the past 12 months.

Due to problems and the doctor’s advice, she had to cancel several obligations.

As the monarch was leaving the British throne after 70 years, her final public appearance occurred during the June Platinum Jubilee celebration.

According to a statement released at midday on Thursday, the queen was reportedly under “medical supervision” at the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
