DOH has reported 852 new Omicron subvariant instances.
The Department of Health (DOH) announced Tuesday that 852 more instances of the Omicron subvariants of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) had been found nationwide.
The DOH stated in a presentation that 839 of the total counts were BA.5 cases, 11, BA.4 cases, one BA.2.75 case, and one BA.2.12.1 case.
Eight of the 839 BA.5 cases involve returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs); approximately 39 are from the Ilocos Region, 13 are from the Cagayan Valley, 47 are from Central Luzon, 28 are from Region 5, 135 are from Region 6, 25 are from Central Visayas, six are from Eastern Visayas, three are from the Zamboanga Peninsula, two are from Northern Mindanao, two are from Davao Region, 60 are from Socksargen, 106 (NCR).
Two of the 11 additional cases of BA.4 come from the Bicol Region, seven from Socsargen, one from Calabarzon, and one from the NCR.
The DOH also discovered one BA.2.75 case from the NCR and one BA.2.12.1 case in a ROF.
All reported cases have been confirmed based on the most recent genome sequencing data from September 9 to 12.
