Bohol Town gains from social development initiatives.

Projects for community development carried out by the Department of Social Welfare and Development would help the town of Pilar in Bohol (DSWD).

Thursday saw the completion of the community projects funded under the agency’s Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services under the direction of DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo (KALAHI-CIDSS).

One of these is a Covid-19 isolation facility in the village of Poblacion, as well as classroom buildings in the communities of Estaca, Lundag, and Catagdaan.

The community volunteer’s efforts to meet the educational requirements of pupils in these communities resulted in constructing these structures, valued at PHP7.5 million.

The DSWD’s Covid-19 reaction activities include the one-story isolation facility with facilities and medical supplies.

The DSWD director oversaw the Sustainable Livelihood Program’s financial assistance distribution in Pilar town (SLP).

Shortly after he visited Pilar, Tulfo headed for the town of Carmen to personally hand out monetary aid to about 144 recipients of the SLP.

To achieve people-centered development, the KALAHI-CIDSS program works with municipalities in disaster- and poverty-stricken areas to provide assistance, capacity-building, and implementation support.

Community members actively participate in the program to identify and prioritize the issues that affect their neighborhood and are allowed to design, carry out, and manage solutions to their most pressing issues.
