VP Sara and the PNP head will discuss how to combat illegal groups.

Vice President Sara Duterte will meet with Philippine National Police (PNP) commander Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. to discuss their strategy against criminal elements, he announced Monday.

Following Duterte’s statement that the government should show “no mercy” to criminals and terrorists to improve coordination and collaboration on national security, Azurin made his comments.

“There is no mercy for criminals, alam mo,” There are many contexts there. No sympathy is shown to criminals, according to our hulihin and ipakulong. The phrase “no mercy to criminals” has many meanings depending on the context. We must capture and imprison offenders without showing them any clemency. At a press conference in Camp Crame, Azurin told reporters, “That’s part of no mercy to offenders.

“I will most definitely be meeting with our vice president. Regardless of whether she is the officer in command (OIC). I’ve simply been busy the last few days, but seeing the VP is on my bucket list, so that’s why I’ve been so busy lately,” he continued.

According to Azurin, the PNP abides by fundamental laws.

We don’t say that we go to the level of those insinuations, though. Therefore, the rule of law is something that, in my opinion, is open to interpretation. This does not imply, however, that we go as far as others have suggested. We have the fundamental rule of law because, as I’ve already stated, the remark [by VP Sara] is up to interpretation.

According to Azurin, the PNP does not need to intimidate criminals since it loves human life and upholds the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to maintain public safety.

To address kidnapping cases involving Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators, the PNP director commended the Senate for praising its measures (POGOs).

According to Azurin, nine of the 17 kidnapping incidents connected to POGO that have been reported since January of this year have been solved.

Seven more cases are still being investigated, leaving one case out of this total as cleared.

Additionally, Azurin said, “The PNP is appreciative of the senators’ receptivity to PNP proposals that will establish an effective system of monitoring and identifying alien workers in the POGO industry as well as the exercise of visitorial powers by PNP Units to inspect and account for security personnel and systems employed by POGO firms, some of whom have reportedly been reported to be actively involved in some kidnapping and illegal detention complaints.”

Azurin stated that the police force is attempting to improve relations with concerned government organizations like the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation and the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to strengthen further the police’s investigative capabilities in POGO-related cases (Pagcor).

According to Azurin, the cooperation is consistent with operational goals to carry out on-the-spot record checks of foreigners and enforce relevant laws and municipal ordinances that govern company operations.

“To make our investigation and search easier, the PNP suggests we ask Pagcor to provide us with a list of authorized POGO operators. Additionally, we coordinate with all law enforcement organizations, the National Bureau of Investigation, and our local forces. Additionally, we requested information from the locals to quickly identify anyone living here illegally or committing crimes. We cannot permit them to sabotage the goal of our President of having a secure and thriving economy, “said Azurin.
