Combat racial prejudice and promote peace: CHR.

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) urged the public on Wednesday to oppose racial prejudice and the harms and disparities it causes.

In a statement, the CHR declared September 21 to be the International Day of Peace. End racism. Promoting peace is the theme for this year.

The CHR urged Filipinos to uphold their shared responsibility as humans “to create a secure society where understanding, compassion, and acceptance prevail” to combat bigotry and hatred.

Since the pandemic began, there have been an increasing number of unwarranted attacks on the Asian minority in other nations, according to the report.

According to the CHR, a 74-year-old Filipino woman was recently attacked in New York City while out strolling. “We condemn this incident and urge government officials to guarantee the Filipina receives prompt justice.”

The commission also emphasized the need for security for all Filipinos residing overseas and migrant workers to government entities.
