Project for Metro Manila Subway is Nominated for International Digital Awards.

The Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) has been selected as one of the contenders for the Best Use of Infrastructure Software to Save Time and Money at the 2022 Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) reported that Oriental Consultants Global (OC Global), a Japanese consortium, served as the general consultant for the MMSP Phase 1 and created a “single source of truth” utilizing ProjectWise and ComplyPro, both Bentley Software Inc. systems.

The MMSP, according to the DOTr, presented issues with coordination and communication that previous software solutions were unable to resolve.

“The project team at OC Global concluded that establishing a connected data environment would be required to deploy collaborative BIM workflows, proactive risk management, and cost monitoring,” it added.

Within the first six months of the project, the system created by OC Global for the MMSP enabled real-time data exchange that optimized collaboration and saved an estimated 5,000 resource hours.

“Bentley’s integrated technology solution found and addressed 50 clashes when used in conjunction with SYNCHRO for construction simulation, cutting down on rework, speeding up the project timeline, and lowering costs. The successful installation of BIM (Building Information Modeling) has already generated a return on investment of over USD 600,000,” the statement added.

The biennial Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure recognize Bentley software users who have improved infrastructure design, building, and operations worldwide.

The finalists for the event must exhibit “excellence and digital innovations” to be considered.

On Nov. 15, in London, the program’s major event, the prize recipients will be revealed.
