CAAP abolishes the flight crew’s required quarantine.
Due to its modified coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) health and safety regulations, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) no longer mandates facility-based quarantine for flight and cabin crew personnel.
The CAAP stated in a Facebook post on Thursday that Memorandum Circular 024-2022 also mandates that flight crew members “self-monitor” for any indications of Covid-19.
Air operators are required to offer medical care if one of these workers tests positive for Covid-19.
The document stated that M.C. Nos. This memo superseded 06-2022 and 07-2022.
Additionally, in accordance with the Philippine government’s assessment and method, aviation operators must perform medical evaluations for flight and cabin crew members who may have contracted Covid-19.
Operators must also guarantee “strict compliance” with pertinent public health rules for any airline staff who must transit at an outstation or make a layover there.
Capt. Manuel Antonio Tamayo, acting director general of the CAAP, signed the document on September 6.
