Positive NCR Covid-19 test results up to 18.9%, highest level since June: OCTA

The number of people in the National Capital Region (NCR) who tested positive for Covid-19, or the positivity rate, climbed marginally to 18.9% as of September 29.

According to Dr. Guido David, a fellow at the OCTA Research Group, it is the highest in NCR since June.

The number of people a case could potentially infect, or the NCR, dropped from 1.28 a week earlier to 1.10 as of September 26.

“Cases are still increasing in the NCR, even though the growth of new cases has halted,” David stated.

In the NCR, there are 7.42 attacks per 100,000 people daily.

“This is thought to be moderate. The good news is that, as of September 28, Covid’s health care use rate in the NCR was still low at 35%, down from 38% on September 21.

At just 29%, the intensive care unit’s occupancy also stayed low.
