PBBM and FFCCCII discuss economic recovery strategies.

In light of the ongoing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) epidemic, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. spoke on Friday with a group of Filipino-Chinese business executives about the objectives and initiatives to hasten the recovery of the Philippine economy.

Marcos revealed his meeting with the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) at Manila’s Malacanang Palace in a Facebook post on Saturday.

He remarked, “We thank our friends from the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. for meeting with us yesterday and sharing their ideas to hasten our nation’s economic recovery from the epidemic.

Marcos also expressed his gratitude to the FFCCCII for responding to his request to adopt a “whole-of-nation approach” to hasten the nation’s recovery from the Covid-19 outbreak.

He stated, “We are glad they have quickly heeded our appeal for a whole-of-nation approach to tackle this enormous and difficult issue.

Malacanang has not yet provided additional information regarding the Chief Executive’s meeting with the FFCCCII.

The FFCCCII previously endorsed Marcos’ strategies for economic recovery.

In his first State of the Nation Address, delivered on July 25, Marcos pledged that the government would pursue initiatives to achieve solid budgetary management to boost the economy.

He also stressed the need to advocate for changes in tax administration, realign the top objectives for spending, and boost spending effectiveness.

The President also aimed to promote “productivity-enhancing” projects and promote the Philippines as an attractive location for foreign investment.

To strengthen the services provided by numerous industries, especially the agriculture sector, Marcos has been in a series of discussions with the nation’s corporate leaders.

The President persuaded foreign investors to do business in the Philippines during his most recent trips to Indonesia, Singapore, and the US by stating that the nation has an advantageous business climate.
