NoKor launches ballistic missiles once more at the Sea of Japan.

The Japanese government said North Korea launched two ballistic missiles early on Thursday, marking the sixth round of launches since late September.

According to Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada, the missiles traveled between 350 and 800 kilometers and reached a maximum altitude of 50 to 100 kilometers before crashing outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone.

Between 6:01 and 6:23 in the morning, according to the South Korean military, North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan from a location close to Pyongyang.

The missile launches followed joint military drills by South Korea and the US just days after Pyongyang sent a ballistic missile over the Japanese islands for the first time in five years.

State-run media stated that the North Korean Foreign Ministry released a statement on Thursday “strongly condemning” the United States and other nations for sending Tuesday’s ballistic missile launch to the UN Security Council.

According to the official Korean Central News Agency, the ministry stated that the launch was a part of “just counteraction measures” in reaction to the US-South Korea drills.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida criticized North Korea’s repeated firing of missiles over a short period in a press conference shortly after the Japanese government announced the launches as “totally unacceptable.”

There had been no reports of damage to Japanese ships or planes, according to Hamada, who informed reporters that Japan had protested North Korea through its embassy in Beijing.

Since late September, North Korea has launched numerous ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan. The missile launched by Pyongyang on Tuesday traveled the farthest distance ever.

The US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan was redeployed a day before Thursday’s launches, the sixth series of firings since September 25, to the waters east of South Korea for a combined exercise.

North Korea has conducted more than 20 ballistic missile tests against the wishes of the UN Security Council since the beginning of the year.
