For the third quarter of this year, the Land Transportation Office in the Caraga Region (LTO-13) reported a revenue collection of almost PHP138 million.

LTO-13 operations chief Urbano Maglines Jr. stated in an interview on Tuesday that the amount of money brought in from July to September of this year exceeded the amount brought in from the same period in 2021 by PHP104 million.

“All things considered,” Maglines stated, “we can acquire a 33.4 percent increase in the third quarter of 2022 compared to last year.”

According to the office’s comparative statistics report, revenue receipts from July through September 2022 were up PHP34 million from the same period in the previous year.

According to LTO-13 Acting Director Danielo Merson Borja, the surge in collections is the result of district offices’ ongoing informational campaigns urging drivers to renew their expired licenses and registrations promptly.

“Our initiatives worked, as seen by the growth in transactions from July to September in the several LTO district offices in the area,” claimed Borja.

By the data, 73,686 more motor vehicles were registered during the time than 71,698 the previous year.

According to Borja, the number of licenses issued has increased by 262.7 percent.

In contrast to the same period in 2021, when 15,761 licenses were issued, 57,175 were issued during the third quarter.

According to Borja, one reason for the rise in business at the various district offices is the easing of health procedures in various parts of the region.

According to him, the local LTO district offices have been instructed to keep the bare minimum health precautions to safeguard their consumers from the pandemic threat.
