On Tuesday, Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba, the recently appointed head of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7), unveiled a strategic plan to maintain law and order and combat crime in the area.

According to the connection, he claimed that the police must learn to embrace technology’s skills to improve their ability to address crimes and provide crucial services to the public.

He continued by saying that developing positive relationships with the community is another aspect of connectedness.

“Getting in touch with our faith is the primary component of connectedness. According to Alba, the PNP fundamental principle, “Makadiyos,” acknowledges that God is the most trustworthy source of bravery and daily satisfaction for police officers’ duty to serve and protect the people.

Alba stated that in addition to upholding the law, the PNP must make an effort to be pillars of light, instruments of God, and pioneers of humanitarian activity.

He added that to prioritize work and “complete all deliverables,” employees must practice critical thinking while carrying out their duties.

According to Alba, the capability enhancement focus entails enhancing the police’s logistical and personnel capacities to support the execution and implementation of programs.

Alba encouraged police officers to conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism during the cleaning effort and to guarantee openness, responsibility, and integrity in all facets of police management.

He also listed the concrete steps in line with his strategic plan:

— Be transparent and accountable to all local commanders, right down to the police stations;

— Post the hotline numbers with the Chiefs of Police’s pictures on all media platforms;

— Hold regular news conferences to build relationships with the public and the media;

— Hold discussions about problems and the safety of journalists in the area; and

— Encourage all facets of society to support the media as the leaders in accountability and openness.

The former head of the PNP’s public information office, Alba, underlined the importance of the station designating a public information office or spokesperson.

In addition, he recommended that in the event of threats, media representatives immediately coordinate with the relevant police station.

“I’ll give Central Visayans urgent and essential issues priority. We prepare in advance,” he said.

Alba also promised to carry out the nation’s strategic directives in the campaign against illicit narcotics.

It must comply with the law and the mandate. We have to adhere to PNP procedures,” he stated.

Regarding security preparations for this year’s celebration of Undas (All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day), Alba stated the PRO-7 is in the home stretch.

He asked everyone to adhere to the minimal public health standard and to always be on guard.

To help prevent crimes, Public Assistance Desks will be visible in terminals, seaports, and other confluence areas as part of Cebu City’s “Oplan Disiplina.”
