LOCATION: The Cape Verde Islands ("Cabo Verde" in Portuguese) are located approximately 500km off the coast of the West African countries of Senegal and Mauritania. The time difference between Cape Verde and Continental Europe is only 2 hours in the winter, and only 3 hours in the summer. Cape Verde is the closest region to Continental Europe with a temperate climate year-round. The flight time from many cities in Western Europe is typically 6 hours or less. The islands form a large archipelago of 10 or so islands and islets. Hotel Morabeza is located on the island of Sal, which is also where you will find Cape Verde's international airport. The island of Sal is approximately 216 km2 and offers large sandy beaches and beautiful turquoise waters. Hotel Morabeza, a hallmark and landmark on the island of Sal, is in the town of Santa Maria on the southern-most tip on the island. The sandy beaches and beautiful turquoise waters of Hotel Morabeza are some of the finest in all of Cape Verde. ACCOMMODATION: The Hotel offers its guests numerous facilities, including over 140 comfortable and well-equipped rooms, which include a terrace, telephone, television, refrigerator, and ceiling fan. Most rooms have direct access to the beach. And because the rooms face the sea, they are naturally cooled and well ventilated by trade winds which temper the tropical sun. Our rooms feature all the modern comforts, including: Terrace - Telephone - Refrigerator - Ceiling Fan - Air conditionning on request with supplement - Bathroom, with bathtub or shower - Toilet - Hot and cold water - Television with parabolic antenna. HOTEL FACILITIES & SERVICES: The Beach Club is located right on the beautiful Santa Maria Beach, just a few short steps from the Hotel's Lobby and guest rooms. Our Beach Club provides an excellent place to relax on our beautiful beach, resting on comfortable thick-mattressed sunbeds, under large parasol umbrellas. Take a cooling dip in one of the nicest unspoiled ocean beaches in the world. Our Beach Club includes our Aquarius Bar, where you can order a alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage, and sip it at the bar, at one of the tables, or at your spot on the beach. Our Beach Club includes a fine restaurant where you can enjoy a sumptuous meal. You can look forward to the freshest fish, and excellent barbecue dishes, just to name a few of our selections. RECREATION Large Sea-Water Pool - Enjoy our large, sea-water pool...a great place for the entire family. Take a cooling dip - Take a cooling dip in our pool...great for guests of all ages. Catch Some Rays on the Pool Deck - Comfortable deck chairs are available for you to lounge, relax, and catch some rays for a fabulous tropical tan. Refreshing Drinks and Deserts...Our Pool Bar is the perfect place to grab a beverage, ice cream, and sandwich.
DINING: We have two restaurants and four indoor and outdoor dining rooms and courts. Breakfast is free for each guest, and half-board and full-board plans are also available. Breakfast Buffet. Hotel Morabeza's breakfast buffet is a great way to start your day. You can enjoy a fine breakfast inside, or outside on our Esplanade. Dine on our Esplanade. Enjoy a great meal outdoors in the open air, cool breeze, and sun or shade on our Esplanade. Our Dinners are exceptional. Dinner is served indoors or outdoors on our Esplanade. You can look forward to an assortment of fine dishes, including an excellent barbecue buffet several times a week. Nightly Entertainment. Enjoy a great meal outdoors while you are entertained by some of our best local talent. Our entertainment includes musical groups, and several times a week special apperarances by local dance troupes. Dinner and Dancing. Enjoy a great dinner and dance to our great
local talent. But watch out...you might be asked to dance by a member
of the dance troupe!!!
ACTIVITIES: The activities we support include tennis, basketball, beach volleyball, archery, and miniature golf, to name a few. We are sure you will find something to interest you and the whole family. Hardcourt Tennis Court - On the West Wing of the complex, we have a fully-enclosed hardcourt tennis court for your enjoyment. If you forgot your racket, no problem, we can furnish you with rackets and balls. Archery Range. We have an Archery Range, featuring high quality bows and arrows. If you have never tried it...this is an excellent opportunity. Instructors are standing by to show you how. Miniature Golf. When was the last time you played miniature
