LOCATION: The American Colony Hotel is the most beautiful hotel in Jerusalem. East meets West in this quiet oasis set in the heart of the Holy Land close to the Old City which teems in history and holy sites.There are many Jerusalem hotels but there is only one American Colony Hotel Jerusalem. The hotel is located about ten minutes walk from the Old City of Jerusalem and near to the commercial and shopping areas of West and East Jerusalem. Directions: Turn left at the first traffic light upon reaching Jerusalem. Continue downhill until the "T" junction. Turn left and then right and continue until the next set of traffic lights. Turn right and follow the road straight, down the hill for about one mile toward the town centre. At the sixth traffic light turn left - at the junction marked with a large green and a large orange sign leading to the hotel.
ACCOMMODATION: The Executive Business rooms are large, modern and are located in the newer sections of the hotel. Recently refurbished to meet our most exigent guests' expectations, they also provide broadband internet access. Not to mention basic items as private safe, hair dryers and interactive TV. The Pasha's Style rooms were built especially for the Pasha's wives. Every room was built to order with ornate arches, or graceful arched ceilings. Step back a hundred years and lose yourself in history. Of course, the Pasha's own room is now available for our guests! It is also referred to as Room No. 1 The Junior Suites in the East House and main building are especially quiet. Those on the ground floor of the East House have traditional arched ceilings and private terrace next to a heavenly garden. The Suites have a luxurious space. They are comfortable with a typical oriental touch and provide all modern facilities that you can expect in the best hotels, such as broadband or dial-up internet access, towel warmer in the bathroom, hair dryer, personal safe and interactive TV system, etc. Two special ingredients we provide in every room is unique to the American Colony Hotel. The ambiance and the experience of over one hundred years of welcoming visitors to Jerusalem. HOTEL FACILITIES & SERVICES: Waiting for friends or biding time before dinner, sit and relax in the pleasant surroundings of the Lobby, under high arched ceilings in what was once the pasha's dining room. Light refreshments are available. Val’s Brasserie Lounge is open from lunch through late dinner all year around. We serve favourite local dishes , continental specialties for lunch and fresh snacks in afternoon and evening. Val’s Brasserie Lounge is situated beside the pool with a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Don’t miss our typical "afternoon British tea". The Courtyard is the very essence of our hotel. Sitting in one of the world's most famous patios, (many movies have been made here), a small Turkish style fountain splashes and green tropical plants rustle gently in the breeze. You can have breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails in this romantic garden. Take a tour of the Courtyard. For a culinary experience that matches the romantic atmosphere, we offer Middle-Eastern and International cuisine of the highest standard. We are proud of our reputation for excellent cuisine and fine service. Please note that all our restaurants serve non-kosher food prepared and supervised by our Swiss Executive Chef. We are particularly proud of our gardens, lovingly maintained by Valentine Vester, one of the owners of the hotel. Taste the vegetables grown in our very own garden and savour the smell of fresh flowers in the patio and summer bar. In our Arabesque restaurant Continental and Arabic food is served, with a variety of frequently changing special dishes. Particular attention is paid to quality and freshness. The Summer Bar is located in our beautiful Palm House Garden, opposite the main entrance of the hotel. An ideal place to relax, to read a book or enjoy nature and the lovely flowers during the daylight hours. Equally enjoyable to be with friends, having drinks served by Ibrahim, our award-winning barman in the cool of the evening. The Cellar Bar is a cozy and relaxing retreat combining all the amenities of a modern bar with the ambiance of the 19th century. It is still floored with the warm pink stone that has been there for 130 years. It is a meeting place for visitors and residents alike. Here journalists meet to chat and mix fact with fiction. We cater functions to order. The Pasha's Room is the perfect setting
