Description
Built by local carpenters in 1989, Australian/Pilipino owned SandCastles Boracay Retreat is an exquisitely crafted, native-style absolutely beach front resort set in tropical gardens on Boracay's main White Beach. Accommodation consists of 20 large bungalows (cottages) and villas built with local materials and decorated with uncluttered simplicity and taste. Ethnic fabric, bamboo and rattan furnishings, village terra cotta tiles, light shades, pottery, jars and crockery adorn guest rooms and common areas. Screened rooms have ceiling fans and air conditioning; tiled bathrooms have hot water. Cable television, personal refrigerators and lockers available for a fee to long-staying guests in certain rooms. A back to nature ambience with none of the frills, SandCastles serves as a retreat to weary travellers, or those who simply want to be laid back.

Large airconditioned and fan-cooled bungalows and villa rooms by the beach twinning native architecture and decor with modern comforts. Wide bamboo balconies, sliding doors of Capiz shell.....spacious rooms featuring fine timber, woven sawali ceilings, Mindanao wall hangings, village pottery....ceiling fans in the style of Somerset Maugham....international standard bathrooms.

Dining
Down a beer or sip real brewed coffee or tea at the bar, incline yourself to an icy cold tropical fruit shake in our rattan lounge chairs, feast on fresh prawns, crabs and fish personally served if you lik on a secluded cove, sample SandCastles' renowned Thai Cuisine at its ThaiCastles restaurant overlooking the beach.

Nocturnal delights
The daily flight of hundreds of fruit bats from Boracay's limestone caves of the island's extreme north to neighboring Panay, signals the start of a new adventure.
