Vorarlberg is the westernmost and wealthiest state of Austria. Though it is the second smallest in terms of area (Vienna is the smallest), it borders three countries; Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The only other Austrian state that shares borders with Vorarlberg is Tyrol. The capital of Vorarlberg is Bregenz.

Kunsthaus Bregenz
An open platform for the artwork, It is a place for deceleration, where the focus is on the real here and now of newly produced series of works and artists are free to unfold the full potential of their work's radical right. To the artists, the Kunsthaus is a temporary studio, a research and production site for developing new series of works whose validity lies in their uncompromising artistic accentuation.

 

Festspiele Bregenz / Bregenz Festival
A performing arts festival which is held every July and August in Bregenz, Austria.
Lake stage for "West Side Story" (2003). Founded in 1946, the festival presents a wide variety of musical and theatrical events in several venues.

See Promenade / Lake Promenade
A very popular place for residents to stroll and spend the evening. There are shaded paths and outdoor restaurants. The sunsets in Bregenz are beautiful from any place at the lake.

Martinsturm
Considered the landmark of Bregenz. The museum gives an overview of the Vorarlberg defense against attacks from outside. The museum displays on 3 floors with an overview of the complete history of Vorarlberg, starting with the Roman occupation around 15 BC the battle of Bregenz in the year 1165 until the founding of the new army of Austria in 1955.


City Sidewalk / Stadtsteig
In 1250, the city of Bregenz in the hills of the upper by the Counts of Montfort "new" was founded. Soon, the city grew over the Maurach (Maurachgasse) and Ried (Kaiserstraße) on the life-giving sea. . The steep road that as a continuation of the upper leads to Maurachgasse, was named city sidewalk.


Bregenzer Oberstadt
The steep climb to this idyllic neighborhood goes through the old city gate decorated with the coat of arms. In the midst of historic streets and squares, stands as a landmark in the Martin Maurachgasse the mighty storm. Wilhelm Graf von Montfort in 1363 was the Martin Chapel tower installation, discovered by a 1914 fresco cycle is known.

In the tower is a small home museum. In Oberstadt include still worth visiting are: The former Gesellen hospital from the 15th century., The old Town Hall with its beautiful West Front, and the idyllic Deuring - castle.



Zanzenberg
Dornbirn is a special gem, a spot of Dornbirn on which you walk, when the view over the city and enjoy nature to refuel without having to use the car. Natural Area Park is located on a hill above the Oberdorf.


Hohenems
Attractions include a palace dating back to the 16th century, where the first manuscript of the Nibelungenlied was found,[1] a Jewish museum and cemetery, and Stoffel's Saw Mill Museum.


Arlberg
A mountain range or massif between Vorarlberg and Tyrol in Austria. The highest peak is the "Valluga" at 2,809 metres (9,216 ft). The name Arlberg derives from the tradition of the "Arlenburg," who are said to have once established themselves on the Tyrolean side of the Arlberg passes (1,793 m over sea level). Another story derives the name from the "Arlenbushes" that are very numerous here. There is no mountain with the name "Arlberg" proper. Popular places and famous ski resorts at the Arlberg are Lech, Zürs, Stuben, St. Christoph and St. Anton.



Silvretta
A mountain range of the Central Eastern Alps shared by Tirol, Vorarlberg (both in Austria) and Graubünden (Switzerland). The Austrian states of Tirol and Vorarlberg are connected by a pass road (Silvretta Hochalpenstraße at 2032 m). The majority of the peaks are elevated above three thousand metres and are surrounded by glaciers. Thus, the area is also known as the "Blue Silvretta".


Schruns
The main village of the Montafon valley in Vorarlberg, Austria, in the Bludenz district. In the west, one can see one of the most popular hiking and climbing mountains in Vorarlberg, the Zimba, which is called the "Vorarlberger Matterhorn".


Bregenzerwald
One of the main regions in the Province of Vorarlberg, Austria. Geologically, the Bregenzerwald is a mountain range of the Northern Limestone Alps, specifically the northern flysch zone. It is the drainage basin of the Bregenzer Ach river.


Kleinwalsertal / Little Walser Valley
The valley is famous in Central Europe as a ski and hiking resort. The 5,000 inhabitants which are called "Walser" provide 12,000 beds for tourists.

Schwarzenberg is a village in the district of Bregenz in the Austrian province of Vorarlberg.

- Schubertiade Schwarzenberg (summer)
The festival focuses on concert in the normal operation often overlooked works of Franz Schubert and other composers of the Romantic period.
- Angelika-Kauffmann Museum
The Heritage Museum was originally founded in 1913. After the third move, it is located since 1928 in building adhesives. In the front part is Bregenzerwälder living culture of the 19th century to see.
- Schwarzenberger Alptag & Market (September)
The most beautiful decorated Alps with about 700 cattle and sheep pull back into the village. After 400-year tradition is the Schwarzenberg Alptag in a great feast for Alpine and farmers. Schwarzenberger The market has historically grown and evolved over the centuries to an annual event in the region of Bregenzerwald.

Considered the most beautiful and best preserved of the State of Vorarlberg.
- The Parish Church of Schwarzenberg,
One of the most beautiful baroque buildings of Vorarlberg. Their festive mood was some time ago by a new organ crowned.

Schwarzenberg is a station at the Bregenzerwald Railway, which is still used as a museum railway company.
