The Philippine Heart Center and the National Kidney Center regional hospitals may move to this Freeport in the future, according to the Clark Development Corporation (CDC).

The decision to locate the two specialty hospitals at this Freeport was authorized by the CDC Board, which is chaired by Edgardo Pamintuan, according to a memo released on Monday by CDC president and chief executive officer Agnes VST Devanadera.

The lower Pulang Lupa extension, with 18.68 hectares of land, and the former Savencia region, with 5.72 hectares of land, were chosen by the state-owned company as the locations for the two health facilities.

Devanadera claimed that CDC had initial discussions on the project’s potential finance with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

Through PAGCOR’s chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco and its president and COO Atty. Juanito L. Saosa, Jr., CDC originally coordinated the potential finance of the project with PAGCOR. Together with the architect and planner of the aforementioned structures, we are also looking into implementing the original design of the two specialist hospitals in Clark, she added in a statement.

The Philippine Health Facility Development Plan is supported by the initiative, according to the CDC and the Department of Health.

This program is also in line with the current administration’s stated intention to build more specialized hospitals across the nation.

Neonatal, heart, lung, kidney, and cancer specialist medical centers will receive priority funding under the PHFDP.
