A German business delegation is now looking into energy efficiency business potential in the Philippines.

These five German businesses are SolarNext AG, MIG mbH, Hörmann KG, eeaser GmbH, and Ecoligo GmbH. They are all involved in energy efficiency technology and solutions.

German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) executive director Christopher Zimmer said in a statement on Tuesday, “These visiting German companies have the advanced technical know-how in the field of energy efficiency, and we are happy to provide the stage for them to connect with both key public and private stakeholders in the Philippines.

With the government’s strong emphasis on energy efficiency and conservation, GPCCI President Stefan Schmitz stated that German companies are becoming more interested in investigating commercial potential in the Philippines related to energy efficiency.

According to Alexander Ablaza, head of the Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance (PE2), “Aside from its benefits in cost savings, energy efficiency is one of the most labor-intensive operations in the energy sector. The Philippines has a great deal of potential for investment opportunities and can create more green jobs.

From March 20 to 24, a corporate delegation from Germany is looking for local partners.

The team will meet Philippine counterparts through business-to-business meetings, project site visits, and other commercial networking activities in addition to the conference held in Makati City on Tuesday.

Eclareon and the German Energy Solutions Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action organized the German delegation’s visit.
