DOLE 9: 3.9K openings at the Labor Day employment fair
The Department of Labor and Employment in the Zamboanga Peninsula (DOLE-9) announced at least 3,909 job openings for its Labor Day job fair in this city.
A job fair will take place on May 1 at the KCC Mall in Zamboanga, according to Albert Gutib, director of DOLE-9, who stated the open positions are available to people looking for employment locally and abroad.
The 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. event will include 34 employers, four of whom are abroad placement agencies.
According to Gutib, the goal of the job fair is to match qualified career prospects with unemployed people.
Applicants can now have a sense of what to apply for and prepare themselves accordingly, Gutib added. “We released the list of vacancies in advance.”
It is also a hybrid activity, and job searchers are encouraged to pre-register online because we anticipate a surge in openings this week. Don’t worry; we’ll post these on our website and Facebook page,” he stated.
Applicants must show the Quick Response (QR) code in the registration area for validation on the day of the job fair after registering and applying online,
They will be permitted entry to the interview area of the job fair after verification.
To apply to numerous employers and improve their chances of being employed immediately, Gutib suggested applicants bring at least three cover letters and bios.
The event will also offer a one-stop service from many government departments to handle clients’ questions and requests for help.
According to Gutib, the Kadiwa ng Pangulo Para sa Manggagawa was established in collaboration with the Departments of Trade and Industry and Agriculture to assist workers in gaining access to goods at lower costs.
At the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University in Barangay Baliwasan, at least 25 Kadiwa beneficiaries will display the fruits and vegetables from their farms.
Additionally, DOLE-9 will disperse government aid like the payout for the Government Internship Program, the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers’ payout, and the distribution of startup kits for a new source of income.
The theme of this year’s Labor Day festivities is “Pabahay, Bilihing Abot-Presyo, Benepisyo ng Matatag na Trabaho para sa Mangagawang Pilipino.”
