Local contractors are being urged by cement manufacturer Holcim Philippines to utilize environmentally friendly building…

The utility company will introduce environmentally friendly e-buses to Iloilo City.
At least 10 air-conditioned electric buses (e-buses) will be arriving this year to operate on routes throughout the metro, according to More Electric and Power Corporation (MORE Power), the power distribution utility operating in this metropolis.
MORE In an interview on Tuesday, Power President Roel Castro stated that providing an eco-friendly mode of transportation is a part of their company’s sustainable purpose in support of the regional government’s push to make the city sustainable through sustainable projects.
He said we considered bringing this in because we are in the electric distribution industry.
For the provision of an alternative method of transportation, MORE Power has partnered with the supplier Global Electric Transport (GET) Philippines.
Castro stated that they will bargain with the city’s business process outsourcing companies for their employee shuttle buses and the transportation cooperative to adopt green buses into their fleet.
He claimed that because the e-bus doesn’t produce noise pollution or spew smoke, it doesn’t hurt the environment.
We hope this will eventually be publicized and the transport cooperatives will take this seriously. This is a crucial sustainable initiative that we are introducing in the city as part of our business social duty, he continued.
Twenty people can ride on the e-bus. It has a 100-kilometer range when completely charged.
It can take an item that charges slowly eight hours to reach full capacity.
Stations will be built in key city locations to meet their charging needs.
Major cities and provinces in the nation, including Taguig City, Davao, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Pampanga, and Batangas, now have similar modes of transportation.
Last Thursday, a single unit underwent a test run with Mayor Jerry P. Treas among its initial passengers.
“Excited to travel in MORE Power’s environmentally friendly e-bus. Let’s all do our part to cut back on carbon emissions and switch to environmentally friendly modes of transportation, the mayor wrote in a Facebook post.
