The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Bicol Regional Office conducted the final leg of its simultaneous Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) payout activities for families affected by Mayon Volcano’s unrest in Albay.

A total of 2,382 families from Barangay San Andres in Sto. Domingo, Albay, and Barangay San Jose in Malipot, Albay, received the ECT payout on the final day. Each family in the evacuation centers received PHP 12,330 in assistance.

DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian directed the three-day (July 14 to 16) ECT distribution to ensure immediate assistance to all Mayon-affected families.

The first tranche of cash transfer payouts on Friday benefited 852 families in the municipalities of Ligao and Guinobatan. However, there are 99 beneficiaries yet to complete their requirements or correct some discrepancies in their identification cards, according to DSWD-Bicol Director Norman Laurio’s report to Secretary Gatchalian.

On Saturday, 922 displaced families from Camalig, 586 from Daraga, and 444 from Tabaco City, all in Albay, received their ECT payouts at different evacuation centers.

The DSWD’s efforts aim to provide timely assistance and support to the families affected by the volcanic activity of Mayon. 💪🌋💕
