An industry meeting will be held to explore the adoption of electric cars.
At a forthcoming conference, stakeholders in the electric vehicle sector will concentrate their discussions on increasing the adoption of e-vehicles in local transportation.
The 9th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit will be held online from August 26 to 27, 2021, by the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) in collaboration with Manila Electric Company and the Department of Energy.
The event’s subject is “Accelerating the Switch to Electro-Mobility in the Philippines,” and it seeks to reinforce government agencies’ commitment to a sustainable transportation system.
The conference also aims to learn about new advancements in the public and private sectors to help the local e-vehicle industry flourish.
Speakers from the government side are also scheduled to address regulations and incentive programs in developing charging infrastructure, according to EVAP president Edmund Araga.
According to Araga, a memorandum of understanding would be inked to enhance Asean industrial collaboration under the Electric Vehicle Program.
“We need to speed up our efforts to meet our objectives for fast e-vehicle deployment, and to do so, the public and private sectors must reaffirm their joint commitment to do so,” he said.
