The government’s procurement of 13 million doses of the Moderna Covid 19 vaccine was finalized on Friday with the delivery of 150,540 doses, the first shipment to the country this year.

The private sector also purchased seven million doses.

Dr. Teodoro Herbosa of the Department of Health, who inspected the consignment arrived through China Airlines Flight CI701, said the government will also get lower-dosed Pfizer vaccines for children aged 5 to 11 in the middle of January.

He also reminded people that booster shots are available three months after the second dosage or two months after single-dose Janssen vaccines.

In an interview at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Herbosa, who is also the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 special medical adviser, said, “All those who were vaccinated October 7 or earlier, you can go to local government units to get your booster doses.”

According to NTF data, a total of 108,853,491 doses were delivered to more than 61 million Filipinos nationwide as of December 31, with 49.8 million already fully vaccinated and 1.84 million receiving booster doses.
