The CDO government has logged seven ‘Omicron’ cases.

On Wednesday, the local administration announced seven positive cases of the Omicron form of coronavirus disease in 2019. (Covid-19).

Dr. Ted Yu Jr., medical officer of the City Health Office (CHO), stated the cases were four males and three females, three from Barangay Consolacion and the rest from the villages of Carmen, Kauswagan, Agusan, and Barangay 27 during an online briefing.

Returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) from the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were two of the positive cases, according to him, as were one local case and four non-Cagayan de Oro inhabitants from Laguna, Batangas, Paranaque, and Ilocos Norte.

The results were late, according to Yu, and the Philippine Genome Center announced them on January 31.

He stated that all of the Omicron variant cases had been properly immunized and had recovered.

“We did not stop even if the results were already negative. “We’re continuing contact tracking, particularly with these five patients who are here, four re-tags, and one local case,” Yu added.

“We’ve already talked to the company (where five positive cases work) for contact tracing,” says Dr. Joey Retuya, the city epidemiologist “Added he.

He also stated that after the negative result was released, one of the four re-tagged cases returned to Laguna.

To prevent the Omicron strain from spreading locally, the city government has increased its contact tracing efforts.
