As the Philippines receives additional Pfizer vaccines, the public is once again advised to be vaccinated.

On Thursday, a representative of the National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 advised unvaccinated Filipinos to get immunized against Covid-19 at the upcoming national vaccination days, which would be held from December 15 to 17.

This was said by Assistant Secretary Wilben Mayor, NTF head of strategic communications on current operations, as he greeted the arrival of 1,082,250 doses of Pfizer vaccine procured by the government at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City.

“Nanawagan kami na sa darating po muli na 15th, 16th, and 17th of December, meron po uli tayo na vaccination days, kaya hinihikayat po nating muli ang ating mga kababayan na hindi pa nagpapabakuna na pumunta sa kani kanilang mga local government

From November 29 to December 1, he claimed, 7.6 million doses were given out during the first nationwide immunization program, dubbed “Bayanihan, Bakunahan.”

After delivering 2.7 million Covid-19 vaccines on November 29, the Philippines is currently placed fourth among countries with the highest number of vaccines delivered in a single day, according to the Department of Health.

China has 22 million doses, India has 10 million, the United States has 3.48 million doses, and Brazil has 2.6 million doses.

The newest shipment of Pfizer vaccinations, according to Mayor, brought the country’s stockpile to 146.4 million doses.

Jennifer Goldstein, the US Embassy’s Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer (ACAO), stressed the importance of the Philippines having different sources of Covid-19 vaccinations.

“We are ecstatic that the Philippine government has obtained these immunizations from American pharmaceutical companies,” Goldstein told reporters.

The Philippines has administered 89,070,292 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine across the country, with 51,811,422 doses utilized as the first shot, 36,869,419 Filipinos entirely protected from the disease, and 389,41 vulnerable individuals receiving booster shots and further doses.

The average vaccination rate has grown to 1,505,991 doses in the last seven days.
