DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The Department of Labor and Employment in Davao Region (DOLE-11) said Monday that at least 6,867 job openings will be available at the Labor Day Jobs and Business Fair on May 1.

DOLE-11 information officer Joyce Mastura said in an interview that 5,320 vacant jobs will be offered locally, while 1,547 jobs will be offered internationally.

69 local employers and nine international employers are expected to attend the event, entitled the 2022 Labor Day Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fair, according to Mastura.

From April 25 to 29, preregistration, screening, and job matching will all be done online, with the final interview taking place in a mall in this city.

DOLE-11 Director Randolf Pensoy stated in a statement that the department is committed to assisting and mitigating the labor market’s recovery from the global health crisis.

“The pandemic has changed our access to job opportunities.” “We’re excited about what’s in store for our jobseekers now that we’re poised to resume a face-to-face job fair with our partners,” Pensoy added.

Pensoy advised job seekers to check DOLE’s official Facebook page for event announcements and warnings on a regular basis.

“As we navigate through the new normal, the Labor Day TNK is in keeping with the DOLE’s duty to encourage meaningful employment possibilities,” he said.
